EFFORTS OF HARYANA ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SOCIETY
HEMS is a voluntary agency working in the field of Environmental Management in the State of Haryana. It has developed integrated Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) for Hazardous Waste Management and managing its operations at Pali, District Faridabad.
The Society is serving about 1900 member units from Doorstep Collection, Transport, Treatment and Disposal of Hazardous Waste. The developed facility is operated by M/s. Gujarat Environment Protection & Infrastructure (Haryana) Limited.
The TSDF is estimated to cater for about 35 years and has the following capacity.
1. Secured Land Fill - 2 MMT
2. Treatment - 2.4 MTA
3. Incineration - 2.5 x 106 K. Cal/Hr.
Total area of the facility is 31 Acres.
Moreover, the Society involved itself in conducting Environmental Awareness Programs and strives to organize Scientific Hazardous Waste Management in the State of Haryana in totality.
