Efforts of Government Of Haryana

Haryana Government is coordinating and monitoring the Hazardous Waste Management through Haryana State pollution Control Board.

Haryana State Pollution Control Board is the statutory body empowered to implement the following Hazardous Waste/Material Related Acts/Rules:
  • The Manufacture, Use, Import, Export and Storage of Hazardous Micro-Organisms, Genetically Engineered Organisms or Cells Rules, 1989
  • The Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2008
  • The Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989
  • The Chemical Accidents (Emergency Planning , Preparedness and Response) Rules, 1996
  • The Batteries (Management And Handling) Rules,2001
  • The Public Liability Act, 1991
  • The Public Liability Insurance Rules, 1991
  • E-Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2011
Owing to its governing responsibility the State Pollution Control Board grants the following approvals to Hazardous Waste Generators, Recyclers and TSDF Operators
  • Authorization under Hazardous Waste Rules
  • Registration under Hazardous Waste Rules and E-Waste Rules

Government of Haryana has allocated land measuring 31 Acres for the development of TSDF facility near Faridabad.

Government of India has granted financial aid under ASIDE Scheme for the establishment of the TSDF facility by the efforts made by Government of Haryana.
