• To promote and facilitate Industries to institutionalise proactive environmental management approach and demonstrate excellence in their environmental performance.
• To provide training and build awareness among members on environmental issues and better management techniques.
• To establish better understanding and unity amongst its members and their respective organizations through the society, this may in turn help in creating a good environment.
• To act as a facilitator in promoting demonstrable legal compliance and benchmark environmental practices.
• To act as a facilitator in developing and managing integrated hazardous waste management facility and common effluent treatment plants for safe and scientifically acceptable disposal of hazardous waste and effluents generated from industrial processes.
• To promote proper hazardous waste management with respect to collection, treatment, storage and disposal as per the Hazardous Waste Rules.
• To promote environmental information and their dissemination within members: and sharing of environment best practices within industries through publications, creating environmental data bases. To promote networking with leading national and international institutions ensuring sound environment management.
• To promote natural resources management, including water harvesting and efficient use of resources.
• To spearhead the environmental awareness movement in the society.
• To encourage and support environment education activities in schools and colleges.
• To facilitate technological assistance to member industries for prevention of pollution, wastes and natural resources management.
